Liverpool, looking to strengthen and rejuvenate its midfielders, is turning its attention to young players in midfield, following in the footsteps of Alexis Mac Allister.

With Manu Koné (Borussia Monchengladbach) and Gabri Veiga (Celta) among the names on the shortlist, Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is believed to be the closest to landing a player.

The tall, thoroughbred midfielder, whose father and brother are also French national team players, is being focused on acquiring a player who can bring strength and height that Liverpool currently lacks.

He is currently participating in the U-21 European Championship 2023, and coach Sylvain Ripoll, who is in charge of the French U-21 national team, explained Tulum’s strengths.

“Khephren brings us despite everything his leadership and his ability to keep the ball,”

“You can’t ask him for the impossible. He hadn’t played for almost five weeks.

“He made the effort and we organised ourselves so that he could participate in part of the match because he is a very important boy in our group. I didn’t expect him to be flamboyant, especially physically.”

With Nice, where he will play in the summer of 2019, he played a total of 138 games, scoring 8 goals and 11 assists.

A defensive midfielder as his main position, he continued to be active in the midfield. After four seasons with the club, it is time for him to look for a step up.

Can Liverpool welcome Khéphren Thuram to Anfield?
