With the acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, the team has successfully upgraded from Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and has the talent to replace Jordan Henderson and others.

Liverpool is not too far ahead, although it would like to think that only a defensive midfielder remains. Nevertheless, they have left open the possibility of making a move for the main target Romeo Lavia, the Belgian midfielder from Southampton.

The club was relegated from the Premier League last season, but has no intention of easily letting go of the midfielder, who is under contract until 2027 and is as young as 19.

The deal is expected to cost £50m, but Liverpool is looking to lower its asking price with add-ons and player transfers, according to Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist.

“For Romeo Lavia, the price tag is around £50million,”

“But sources believe that maybe, with some add-ons or with a creative formula such as including some players, they can find a way with Southampton to reach an agreement.”

With Arsenal and Chelsea also showing interest, landing the player will not be easy. The more competing clubs there are, the more difficult it becomes to negotiate the asking price, making the timing very difficult.

Will Liverpool move to strengthen further and welcome the Belgian midfielder into the team?
