With Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the team, Liverpool has almost completed its midfield restructuring, leaving open the possibility of moving to sign more defensive midfielders. However, the top priority for reinforcements has shifted to the center backs, with increased interest in Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.

Disturbing news, however, has been circulating around the world. Steven Gerrard’s new manager, Al-Ettifaq, has taken a strong interest in Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson and wants to see him again on the Saudi Arabian scene.

According to The Telegraph, the Liverpool captain is seriously considering going to the Middle Eastern club, weighing up Liverpool “stay” and Saudi Arabia “move.” And he is expected to make a decision soon.

Henderson is under contract until 2025, but a move to the Middle East would allow him to receive an attractive salary and, besides being reunited with former colleagues, including Gerrard and Roberto Firmino, he could also play against stars such as Karim Benzema.

At this point, no formal offer has been made, and any transfer would have to be agreed upon with Liverpool for a sum of money. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that they would demand a hefty transfer fee for the 33-year-old midfielder, which is not a problem for Al-Ittefaq, who has ample financial resources.

He has made a total of 492 appearances for Anfield and has also been on the pitch for 77 games for England. If he were to move to the Middle East, his chances of being selected for the national team would be reduced, so he is being considered with that in mind.

Jurgen Klopp does not like the idea of losing the former Sunderland midfielder, who has shown a high level of leadership, with James Milner leaving. The manager wants a quick resolution and has little time left for Henderson.

If Henderson decides to leave, the club is likely to make a serious move for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, who has been rumored for some time, furthering the generational change in midfielders.

Will he leave the club he has belonged to since 2011?
