Liverpool, which is working to secure a defensive midfielder to replace Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, is serious about signing Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia, who has played for Southampton since last season, but has had a third offer rejected.

Apart from the 19-year-old midfielder, Liverpool has its eyes on additional new midfielders, and Brazilian midfielder Andre, who plays for Fluminense, is a candidate.

It is said that they have already put in a transfer confirmation with the Brazilian club and the probability of a move is increasing.

Neil Jones, an English journalist, suggested that depending on the result in the Copa Libertadores, the transfer frenzy surrounding Andre could be set in motion, but he also said that they will try to acquire him next winter, if not in this summer’s transfer market.

“Andre is certainly a player that Liverpool are looking at, and if Fluminense were to go out of the Copa Libertadores this week then that could be a situation that moves.”

“He’s a different kind of player to Lavia, but one that has attributes that Liverpool like – namely, a bit of bite and a strong mentality. I could see that becoming an option in the coming weeks, or maybe a deal being set up for January.”

At this point in time, the priority is to find a player who can handle the bottom of the midfield, and we are putting all our efforts into the Southampton midfielder.

Also, as mentioned by English journalists, there is no need to rush to acquire the Brazilian midfielder, unlike the conditions they are looking for.

Will Liverpool really make the Fluminense midfielder their top target and make a move for him…?
