Saudi Arabia’s oil money is making the European soccer world tremble. After signing Cristiano Ronaldo last winter, this summer’s transfer market brought in a string of well-known players, quickly transforming the league into a star-studded destination.
The league has become more and more exciting, with the likes of 26-year-old midfielder Ruben Neves and 28-year-old midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic deciding to join the Saudi Professional League, along with Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino, and others who are beyond their prime.
Liverpool is no exception, with Jordan Henderson leaving Anfield after a huge salary and the persuasion of manager Steven Gerrard, and Fabinho, who was expected to be a regular this season, also leaving the club in an unusual situation.
Liverpool is struggling to find a defensive midfielder to replace him, but more nightmares may be coming. According to FootMercato, Al-Nassr are looking for a new goalkeeper after losing their opening game, and have expressed interest in Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Whether this interest is true or false, Liverpool will not let go of their regular goalkeeper. No matter how much money is offered for the transfer, there is zero chance that they will shake their heads. Even if the player wanted to move to Saudi Arabia, he would be allowed to fulfill his contract.
The Saudi team also tried to bring in Thiago Alcantara and Mohamed Salah this summer, but there is no way they can pull any more out of Liverpool.
If I had to say so, I would say Joel Matip and Adrian, but I would not give them up if they offered the right transfer fee, but what do you think…?
