Crystal Palace to demand £70m for 23-year-old midfielder Cheick Doucouré Transfers

After the departure of Fabinho, Liverpool acquired Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo, overcoming the transfers of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea. He made his debut in the second round of the Premier League against Bournemouth, and showed a composed performance in a team forced to play with 10 men.

However, at 30 years of age, he is stepping into veteran territory, and with Thiago Alcantara expected to leave the club next summer, Liverpool is looking to acquire more midfielders.

In addition to Bayern midfielder Ryan Gravenberch and Fluminense midfielder Andre, Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucouré’s name is frequently reported.

According to the Evening Standard, Liverpool has no intention of selling the interested Malian midfielder and has set a minimum price of £70 million. The club believes that this amount of money will be enough to fend off interest from other clubs.

Since they are not limiting themselves to defensive midfielders, it is unlikely that they will spend a lot of money on Doucouré. It is unlikely that they will offer the transfer fee they offered for Caicedo and Lavia, even in light of the fact that the other two players are available for less money.

The midfielder is a player that many supporters would like to see acquired, but a move to Liverpool is not realistic at this time. With Stefan Bajcetic, Alexis Mac Allister, and Trent Alexander-Arnold also available, there may be no way to force a move for the midfielder.

Will Liverpool be able to acquire a new midfielder before the transfer deadline closes?
