Liverpool and Manchester United interested in Real Sociedad defender Robin Le Normand Transfers

Liverpool set out to revamp its midfielders and acquire a left-handed center back during this summer’s transfer window. Despite reported interest in the likes of Levi Colwill and Mickey van de Ven, the club ultimately failed to bring anyone into the team.

Nevertheless, the acquisition of young defenders who could replace Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk, both 32 years old, remains a priority. The lack of left-handers in the center backs at the moment also makes it essential to find someone who can bring a new dimension to the team.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are interested in Spanish defender Robin Le Normand, who plays for Real Sociedad. Manchester United, also in the Premier League, are also following the player’s movements.

Born in France, the center-back joined Real Sociedad’s lower division in 2016 after coming through the academy in Brest; he was promoted to the first team in 2019 and has scored five goals and six assists in 190 games so far, and was selected for the Spanish national team in June 2023.

The deal for the player, who is under contract until 2026, is expected to cost €50m, and it is up for grabs whether interested clubs will pay for the center back, who will turn 27 this November.

For Liverpool, age could be a bottleneck. The center backs they have targeted this summer have been in their early 20s, so it is hard to imagine a player in his late 20s being high on the list.

Will the Spanish defender, who is rumored to be under the hot seat from the Premier League, leave La Liga and seek a new challenge?
