Preparing to sell Caoimhin Kelleher as Liverpool is looking at Sunderland's Anthony Patterson Transfers

For the past several seasons, Irish goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher has been Liverpool’s second best goalkeeper. He is now 25 years old and in the middle of his career, having been unable to take over the position of regular goalkeeper due to the presence of Alisson Becker, the Brazilian national team goalkeeper.

Recently, every time the transfer market opens, interest from various clubs has been reported. Last summer, rumors were rife that Premier League clubs such as Brighton and Brentford would be interested in acquiring him, and there was also interest from Scottish clubs such as Celtic.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are preparing to sell the player and are demanding £20 million as a transfer fee, while 23-year-old goalkeeper Anthony Paterson, who plays for Sounderland, is set to replace him.

The Newcastle-born goalkeeper grew up in Sunderland’s lower divisions before being promoted to the first team in 2021. After a six-month loan spell at Notts County, he has started every game this season in the Championship and has been in the goalmouth for the club.

The goalkeeper, who is under contract with his club until June 2028, can also fill a home-grown slot, which leaves room for a foreigner in another position.

The Irishman has the calm demeanor on the pitch and the foot skills to withstand the fast presses of his opponents, but will Liverpool make a move for the 23-year-old goalkeeper?
