Liverpool recalled Fabio Carvalho, Rhys Williams, Owen Beck and Calvin Ramsay for their own reasons. The Portugal U-21 international is already on loan at Hull City, where he scored the final goal in a Championship match.
Also returning to Anfield is 26-year-old defender Nathaniel Phillips, who spent the first half of the season with Celtic and has filled in for the injured Joel Matip. However, before the winter transfer window closes, Phillips and Ramsay are once again close to loan moves.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Bolton defender has received heat from Championship sides such as Cardiff City, Leeds United, and Blackburn Rovers. It seems that they are keen on renting the sturdy center back who boasts unmatched strength in the air.
On the other hand, the Scottish U-21 defender has also received interest from the Championship. Leeds United and Southampton are keen on acquiring the player and are looking to conclude a loan move in the second half of the season.
Phillips is unlikely to be available in the future, partly due to the emergence of Jarell Quansah. Joe Gomez, who continues to be used at left back, will also likely continue to come off the bench as Robertson and Tsimikas return to center back.
At right back, where 20-year-old defender Conor Bradley is gaining more and more recognition, Ramsay is not guaranteed playing time either, and a stint at another club would be an appropriate choice.
Can both players, who seem to be out of action at Anfield, find their place in the league below?
