Scottish defender Andy Robertson joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 from Hull City, who were relegated from the Premier League, and once he established himself as a regular left-back, he has contributed to many victories with a number of assists that would not be expected from a defender.

The 29-year-old sideback, who has matured mentally to the point where he is now the captain of the national team, is rumored to be of interest to Bayern Munich as a replacement for expected Canadian defender Alfonso Davis.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool is preparing to sign a new contract with the former Hull City defender, who is under contract until June 2026, and plans to hold talks to determine terms by the end of 2024.

The left back has played more than 200 Premier League games, but Liverpool is negative about releasing him. Although he will soon turn 30 years old and is approaching veteran status, his leadership on and off the pitch is hard to dismiss.

Not only does he move up and down the flanks, but he also gets in front of the goal and causes chaos for the opposing defenders. Aside from his assists, he has also adapted to the changing style of play and is adept at pulling back positions when Trent Alexander-Arnold plays as a false back.

Will the experienced Scottish defender remain at Anfield beyond 2026 or will he walk on to a new challenge in Germany.
