32-year-old defender Joel Matip’s contract expires at the end of the season and he is likely to leave the club as is.
To fill the void, Liverpool continues to show interest in a new center back, with Sporting defender Goncalo Inácio and various other targets being floated.
Fulham’s 26-year-old defender Tosin Adarabioyo is one of the candidates, and like Matip, it has been reported that the former Manchester City defender, whose contract expires at the end of this season, could be acquired on a free transfer.
Updating the information surrounding the player, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert on transfers, said that his club Fulham has approached him to renew his contract, but is hesitant to make a decision right now due to interest from other clubs.
“Understand Fulham have offered new long term deal to Tosin Adarabioyo with salary rise as part of the proposal.”
“Tosin’s current contract expires in June.”
“…but he’s still considering his future as several clubs remain interested in signing him as free agent.”

He has plenty of experience in the Premier League and Championship, having started over 100 games for the London club.
He has also spent a little time on the pitch in the Champions League in the past when he was at Manchester City, and has firsthand experience of the atmosphere there.
Although he is still inexperienced in European competitions, he is a player who can be calculated well enough to be treated as one of the team members.
His performance against Liverpool in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup this season was highly praised, and he is recognized as one of the best center backs in the Premier League.
Will Liverpool bring in the 26-year-old defender as their new center back, or will Fulham succeed in signing him to a new contract?
