Atalanta reached the top of the Europa League this season after defeating an in-form Bayer Leverkusen side. He played in various positions in that midfield and made his presence felt.
Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has been very successful this season with 15 goals and seven assists in 49 games.
He is a versatile player in midfield who can play high or low and has played more than 100 games for the Italian club. He has also made 21 appearances for the Dutch national team and has been linked with a move to Liverpool.
The rumours are further fuelled by the value of the relationship between the AZ Alkmaar youth product and his history of being coached by Arne Slott during his time in the first team.
According to Fabrizio Romano, there has been no contact with Liverpool, although he reported the fact that Juventus are serious about acquiring him.
“We’re seeing more links with Liverpool, but I’m still told he’s a priority target for Juventus this summer. Juve are working on it,”
“Let’s see what happens at Liverpool but my information is that there is nothing concrete so far, we will see as soon as Arne Slot meets with the club’s new directors.”
