Liverpool is targeting Real Madrid forward Rodrygo in this summer's transfer market Transfers

Liverpool are searching for a successor to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah. They are also looking to strengthen their front line, which has seen a decline in scoring at the end of the season, and rumours are rife, with Barcelona and others showing interest in Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

While realistic targets such as Belgian international Johan Bakayoko hit the headlines, the name of Brazilian international Rodrygo, who plays for Real Madrid, was reported as an unrealistic target. In the background, the arrival of French international Kylian Mbappe was also mentioned.

According to SPORT, Liverpool offered as much as £100 million, but Real Madrid rejected the offer. The Spanish capital club are demanding a minimum of £127 million.

The Brazilian winger, who moved to Spain from Santos in the summer of 2019, has scored 54 goals and 41 assists in 216 games in total, with 17 goals and nine assists in 51 games this season. He also played a major role in winning the Champions League.

It is feared that his opportunities will be reduced next season with the arrival of the French striker, and it has been suggested that he may seek a new club. Nevertheless, the player himself is said to want to stay at Madrid, and at the very least it seems unlikely that he will move on this summer.

He is still only 23 years old and at the peak of his career, so it is not hard to envisage him landing in the Premier League in a few years’ time, but…?
