Liverpool, who are working to secure a new attacker or centre-back due to Mohamed Salah’s age and overall poor performance, Joel Matip out and Virgil van Dijk a veteran, have a variety of players on their list.
Meanwhile, there are reports of interest in defensive midfielders, with Atalanta midfielder Ederson and Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray emerging as targets, while Liverpool are also looking to France.
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have made enquiries to the club about the cost of acquiring French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from Monaco.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who joined from Strasbourg in 2020, has a number of other clubs interested. Newcastle United, AC Milan and Manchester United are among the three clubs with the strongest interest, and have also reported that a trip to Anfield is unrealistic.
The French midfielder, who dominates midfield with his strong physicality, has scored seven goals and 15 assists in 175 games for the club and has also featured in 18 games for the national team. It is not surprising that he is looking to step up soon and is likely to change clubs this summer.
It is unlikely that Liverpool will continue to make moves for the player, but it would not be surprising to see a future where the French-born player lands in England or Italy.
