Dutch defender Jeremy Frimpong has put up impressive figures of 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 games as a right wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen in their undefeated Bundesliga campaign.
The 23-year-old defender, who will also represent his country at EURO 2024, continues to make his presence felt in both attack and defence with his agile movements.
He has been recognised for his performances in Germany and has attracted the interest of Premier League sides such as Arsenal and Liverpool.
The player could be a popular name in the transfer market this summer, but according to Fabrizio Romano, nothing is likely to progress until after EURO 2024.
His priority at the moment is the competition and he is focused on getting results as a member of the Dutch national team.
“Finally, we’ve seen Jeremie Frimpong linked with Arsenal in recent times, but also more recently with Liverpool,”
“Still, I have no update on Frimpong now, because he will not decide anything on his future during the Euros – this is the current plan.”
“The release clause is there and valid, but Frimpong wants to focus on the Euros now so the situation is currently quiet.”
Daily Briefing
If he joins Liverpool or Arsenal, he is expected to be used as a right winger, but it is unknown to what extent new manager Arne Slot will be looking for right-handed wingers.
It is no secret that Mohamed Salah is a high priority, as the only left-handed winger currently available is Mohamed Salah.
Will the talent that has emerged in the Bundesliga step up to the challenge of the Premier League for the first time…?
