Led by Mohamed Salah, Liverpool have some of the Premier League’s leading forwards, including Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo. Many of them scored double-digit goals, but towards the end of last season, they were conspicuous for missing the deciding goal.
A number of forwards, wingers and attacking midfielders are on the list and being scouted, as they need to further strengthen their scoring and breaking down repertoire, while also securing a replacement for the Egyptian winger.
Recently, the name of Atalanta’s Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has surfaced. According to Rudy Galletti (Italian journalist), three other clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, have expressed interest and will need to offer a transfer fee in excess of €60 million.
“Lookman is attracting the attention of many England clubs, confirmed.”
“Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the teams that internally discussed the Nigerian player.”
“Atalanta prefer to keep him and are only open to evaluating big offers (>€60m).”

He has a wealth of Premier League experience, having previously played for Fulham, Everton and Leicester City, and when he moved fully to Atalanta in the summer of 2022, he has been more accurate in front of goal than he was in England, with 32 goals and 18 assists in 78 games so far.
Second striker is his main position, a position that Liverpool do not have. Nevertheless, he can also play as a centre-forward or left winger and has the utility to play in a variety of positions up front, making him an easy asset for any club.
Will Liverpool really sign the Nigerian attacker…?
