Fenerbahce's new manager, Jose Mourinho, wants Darwin Nunez on loan Transfers

Two years ago, Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica, replacing Senegalese international Sadio Mane. In his first season with the club, he was criticised as a striker, as he failed to score many of the decisive goals.

In his second year, last season, he showed improvement in both goals and assists, with an impressive 18 goals and 13 assists in 54 games.

However, towards the second half of the season he lost his form and his performances as a centre-forward were poor and he began to miss one-on-one chances with the goalkeeper.

The player has reportedly received interest from Barcelona and other clubs, but interest has also been received from Turkey.

According to Ajansspor, newly appointed Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is looking to take the player on loan and wants to replace Michy Batshuayi.

The former Belgian international has moved to domestic rivals Galatasaray, who are looking for a new scorer. So all eyes are on the 25-year-old forward, who has also been plagued by criticism in England.

The Uruguayan striker is still expected to be the mainstay of the team in the Arne Slot regime that took over the baton from Jurgen Klopp, and is unlikely to leave Anfield in the transfer market this summer…
