Release clause of €100m...Liverpool are interested in Norwegian international Andreas Schjelderup Transfers

Norwegian international Andreas Schjelderup joined Benfica from Nordsjælland in January 2023, but only played one league minute in his first six months in Portugal before returning to Nordsjælland on a loan deal last season.

In 39 games for his old club, he scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists. His good performances in Denmark resulted in interest from Premier League clubs. According to O Jogo, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the player and could make a move for him.

The 20-year-old attacker, who mainly plays on the left wing, is also reported to have a €100 million release clause in his contract.

Liverpool will not pay an exorbitant transfer fee for the young prospect, and the key will be whether Benfica demand the full amount.

The young winger has been rumoured to be of interest to Liverpool before his move to Portugal, but it is unlikely that they will act until a deal is signed at this stage.

The left winger has an excellent squad of players, with youngsters such as Ben Doak waiting in the wings, and there is no need for expensive players who are unproven at the top level.

If he gets his big break at Benfica next season and develops into one of the best wingers in Europe, a move to Anfield is a possibility, but…?
