He scored three goals and assisted one for Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands in the ongoing EURO 2024 and scored the winning own goal in the quarter-final against Turkey.
He led the team to the semi-finals. For Holland, he was given the familiar left wing position and often created chances by winning one-on-one battles with opposing defenders.
He is also a threat with his powerful shots from cut-ins and is lively in a position he has played since he was a youngster.
At Liverpool, in addition to being used as a left winger, he has also been used as a centre forward and midfielder, and has experienced a variety of positions.
He revealed that he was desperate to meet Klopp’s demands and expressed his satisfaction with the current state of the national team, which is struggling to win.
“I was a left winger before so that’s always been my preference. But in the last one and a half years, the coach (Jurgen Klopp) needed me to play somewhere else and that’s what I tried to do at my best,”
