Liverpool to make enquiry for Algerian defender Rayan Ait-Nouri Transfers

With Andy Robertson approaching veteran status and reserve Kostas Tsimikas never fully recovered from injury last season, and with Joe Gomez back in the England squad, he has spent the second half of the season warming the bench.

With a view to rejuvenating the left-back position, rumours are rife that Liverpool are interested in 23-year-old defender Rayan Aït-Nouri, who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers. With 100 Premier League appearances ahead of him, it is no surprise that he sees it as a time to step up his game.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have made an enquiry for the player, who is also targeted by Chelsea as a left-back replacement for the often injured Ben Chilwell. Wolves’ asking price is believed to be around €45 million.

He made his full national team debut in March 2023, choosing to play for Algeria instead of his native France. He has made 13 appearances so far, creating chances from the left flank while also containing the opposition’s attacks.

His ability to handle the ball with his left foot is first class and he can keep the ball calmly even when surrounded by opposition players. Last season, he was also used as a left-sided midfielder one row forward or as an attacking midfielder, which broadened his range of play.

The 23-year-old left-back has broken new ground, but will he join a Premier League powerhouse club in the transfer market this summer…?
