Colombian international Luis Diaz is the subject of reported interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He reached the final of the Copa America this summer and had a productive tournament, despite losing to Argentina.
Liverpool had no intention of releasing him and it appeared that they would not sell him for any amount. However, according to Ian Doyle of the Liverpool ECHO, the club could be allowed to leave Anfield if the right transfer fee and left winger were available.
“Perhaps the most high-profile potential exit is Luis Diaz.”
“Paris Saint-Germain and, more pertinently, Barcelona have been linked with a long-time interest, with the player’s father making no secret of a desire for the winger to one day play in Spain.”
“Liverpool would want around £75m for the Colombian and would only sanction a sale once they had a replacement lined up.”
The 27-year-old winger joined Liverpool from Porto in the winter of 2022 and was remarkable from his first game, linking up as if he had played for the team for years.Last season, despite a string of injuries, he played the whole season and scored 13 goals and grabbed five assists.
At this point in time, it is difficult to envisage a future for the Colombian international leaving Liverpool, with the exception of Barcelona, but for Paris Saint-Germain, it is not a difficult price to pay and offers could be on the cards in the summer transfer window.
Will one of the Premier League’s best attackers stay at Anfield next season, or will he face a new challenge at another club?
