Liverpool, aiming to strengthen its academy, moves to sign ‘bankruptcy’ Bordeaux midfielder Mathys Angely Transfers

Liverpool have made a number of high potential young signings in recent years. Last summer, they welcomed then 16-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni from Leicester City into the team, and he also made his first-team debut last season.

The club continues to scout young players around the UK, with many youngsters such as Harvey Elliott, Conor Bradley and Ben Doak already established in the first team.

And their eyes are now focused on the prestigious French club Bordeaux, which has filed for bankruptcy due to financial difficulties.

According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are interested in 17-year-old defender Mathys Angely, who has signed a contract with the club, and are looking for a chance to land the player, who is due to be out of contract with the French club, without a transfer fee.

The France U-17 centre-back made his debut in the Ligue Deux last season and has shown his talent with his performances. He is gaining a growing reputation in France, and several clubs besides Liverpool are following his movements.

As he still has little professional experience and is not a regular contender at the moment, he will hone his skills in the academy.

Alternatively, he would like to be loaned to a club in Europe, such as France, to experience top-level competition and improve his skills as a player.

At the moment, this is only a rumour, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make a serious move. The club’s owner company, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), has been in discussions to buy the club and may be familiar with the inner workings of the club.

Will the centre-back from Brive-la-Gaillarde move on to a new career…?
