Arne Slot, who takes over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, has instilled his signature possession football throughout pre-season, adding a new essence to his fast, vertical style of play.
In order to improve the accuracy of his preferred style of play, the Dutchman is looking for a defensive midfielder with good technique, and is continuing discussions with the players, with Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi as a priority target.
With the start of the new season looming, Liverpool want to finalise the transfer as soon as possible, but Real Sociedad’s persuasion has stalled over the past few days.
Nevertheless, the Reds have presented the project and offered good terms and are pushing hard to push for the player’s transfer.
“Real Sociedad feel Zubimendi is more than tempted to join Liverpool.”
“Liverpool are prepared to pay whatever is needed to sign him after presenting exciting project and good salary.”
