I would tell myself to start studying... What Darwin Nunez would like to tell his younger self Career

In his first year with Liverpool, Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez scored 15 goals and four assists in 42 games, and in his second year, last season, he improved his game with 18 goals and 13 assists in 54 games. He has also developed as a centre-forward and is becoming an integral part of the team.

However, his decision-making rate in front of goal remains an issue. He is very weak in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper and often saves or hits the keeper.

With 13 goals in 29 games for Uruguay, he has scored at intervals of one goal every two games, and is expected to score more goals at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp, who acquired the player, has left the club and Arne Slot has been appointed as the new manager. At the moment, Portuguese international Diogo Jota is ahead of him in the pecking order, but the Dutch manager has faith in the 25-year-old striker.

The former Benfica forward is expected to develop further in his third year at Liverpool, but when asked what he would like to pass on to his younger self, he revealed that he would like to pass on the importance of giving your all to football, including starting to study, nutrition and being fit for the game.

“The truth is I would tell myself to start studying, which is principal.”

“And to also look after my nutrition, and look after myself before matches and not be thinking about going out.”

“At that age you want to go out  with friends, but that’s when you have to be strong, to be good, so that on matchday, you can show everything.”

“This is my advice, and this is how I have lived. It is important at that age to look after yourself well.”
