As a long-term replacement for Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Liverpool have turned their attention to Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who plays for Valencia.
Negotiations have been ongoing over the past few weeks and it looks like the first of Liverpool’s summer reinforcements may finally be on the cards.
Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market, reported that an agreement between Liverpool and Valencia is close at hand, although some final adjustments remain to be made in the details.
It should be noted that the transfer fee is €35 million and includes a minimum one-year loan back, in addition to a sell-on clause to be triggered on the next sale.

Negotiations had initially included a loan move to Bournemouth, but the player preferred to remain at Valencia, making it difficult for him to gain Premier League experience, but conversely the transfer fee has been discounted from €40 million.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who Chelsea have also been trying to acquire and Manchester United are said to have recently tried to hijack him, will a move to Anfield be completed shortly…?
