Liverpool are interested in Nordsjaelland midfielder Daniel Svensson as they look to strengthen their midfield Transfers

With Arne Slott taking over at the helm of Liverpool, the role required of the midfield has changed. Japan midfielder Wataru Endo, who was a key asset in Jurgen Klopp’s regime, has been dropped down the pecking order, while Ryan Gravenberch has been given a chance to shine in his new role.

Having lost the tug-of-war with Real Sociedad and failing to bring Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, whom they were close to acquiring, into the team, the summer transfer window looks set to end without the midfielder that manager Slott would ideally like.

Nevertheless, Liverpool have not neglected their search for a European midfielder. According to Football Transfers, they are interested in Swedish U-21 midfielder Daniel Svensson, who plays regularly for Nordsjaelland.

Born in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, Svensson joined his current club in the summer of 2020. Since then, he has scored eight goals and provided 18 assists in 139 games in total and has been an integral part of the team since the start of the season, starting every game.

However, he has made more appearances at left-back and right-back this season than as a defensive midfielder, so he is hardly a pure bottom-of-the-table midfield player. His appearances for the Swedish U-21 national team have all been in the final line, so he does not seem to be an ideal candidate.

Will Liverpool extend their tentacles to the young 22-year-old midfielder and defender…?
