Dutchman Arne Slot has been appointed to take charge of Liverpool, replacing master coach Jurgen Klopp, who left Anfield at the end of last season.
The 45-year-old new head coach, who has previously managed at AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord, will test his mettle at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The first step in his career was to take the club to the world’s biggest clubs. Fellow Dutch international Cody Gakpo has been impressed with Liverpool’s change to the Slot regime.
He is positive that the team can move forward by continuing the style of play from the Klopp era, but adding a new style.
“A lot has changed compared to Klopp, but he makes a very good impression. It is not necessarily better or worse, but it has mainly changed,”
“Last season it was more from the counter, but that is only advantageous. We will soon have mastered both systems. That can take us far.”

Although he missed out on a start in the opening game of the season against Ipswich Town, the 25-year-old left winger is expected to do more after scoring 16 goals and assisting six in 53 games last season.
He is expected to make more appearances on the left wing this season and is likely to score more than 16 goals in his familiar position.
