After a quiet transfer window, Liverpool acquired Italian international Federico Chiesa just in time for the deadline. They secured the attacker they had been targeting from the outset, but the right-back, who will soon be 27, is unlikely to be considered as a successor to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah.

With the names of various targets such as Portugal international Pedro Neto, who moved to Chelsea, Real Sociedad midfielder Takefusa Kubo and PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko making the media rounds, serious reinforcements will have to wait until next summer.Nevertheless, articles continue to report on Liverpool’s relationship with the winger.

Christian Falk, a German journalist, suggested above as a what-if story that a move for French international Kingsley Coman could be on the cards, with three English clubs, including Manchester City and Manchester United, interested.

“If there will be a club willing to pay for him, and if it comes from the Premier League, I think both sides (Bayern and Coman) would be prepared to talk.”

”There will always be rumours about Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, so there are clubs interested in Coman if he’s not injured. If he’s playing very well in the lead-up to winter, I think a move could happen, as Bayern wants to sell him.”

Caught Offside

The 28-year-old winger, who has a contract with Bayern Munich until June 2027, can play on either flank. He has made a total of 201 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring 41 goals and providing 44 assists. He has also been on the pitch for the French national team in 57 games.

However, it is unlikely that Premier League sides will materialise their interest due to his age and injury history. He is the type of player who gets injured more quickly than he is capable of, and the odds of him finishing the season injury-free in a league with a higher intensity than Germany’s are slim.

At the very least, no top English team would be willing to take a chance on the 28-year-old winger, but it is possible in other leagues or in Saudi Arabia.
