Former Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva played for Liverpool for ten years. He made a total of 346 appearances for Anfield and was a favourite with supporters. In the summer of 2017, he sought a new home in Italy, playing for Lazio until 2022.
He has played in Serie A with Italy international Federico Chiesa, who joined Liverpool on the cheap in this summer’s transfer window.
The club’s alumni, who also knew him when he was an injury-free Warriors player, were pleased with the reinforcements and stated that he is a positive player for the team.
“I was very happy when I saw the signing,”
“I played against him when he was at Fiorentina, and afterwards Juventus.”
“A fantastic player. Of course, he is coming back from a big injury – I’m sure Liverpool are looking after him and seeing the best time to play him. He can play on the left wing, on the right wing.”
“He has pace to be an important player, and he comes into a team that is very well structured. I think he is a player that adds a lot for the squad and I’m really looking forward to it.”

For the time being, he is expected to fulfil his role as back-up to Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, but once he gets used to the Premier League and Arne Slot’s football, he could compete regularly with the likes of Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo on the left wing.
If he can regain his senses from a few years ago, he could be a good enough player for England, so he will need to be used while keeping an eye on injuries.
Can the 26-year-old winger, who also has high hopes for the former Liverpool midfielder, deliver at Anfield?
