Egyptian international Omar Marmoush put up impressive numbers for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, with 17 goals and six assists in 41 games. He has continued to lead the team up front this season with three goals and three assists in four games.
Despite the interest of some of the Premier League’s best clubs, no offers arrived from Inglan’s big clubs during the summer transfer window. Nevertheless, Nottingham Forest approached him on three occasions and even offered £20 million.
However, Frankfurt rejected the offer and he will remain in the Bundesliga for the rest of the season. According to TEAMtalk, the 25-year-old striker is keen to make a move to the Premier League in 2025 and hopes his dream will come true this winter or next summer.
There had been rumoured interest in the Egypt forward from Liverpool and Arsenal. Crystal Palace and West Ham United are also keen, and several clubs, including Nottingham, could be in the market for him.
A potential problem is the transfer fee. No release clause has been set and his club is expected to demand £40 million. This seems high for a player who got his big break last season and has no experience on the big stage, such as the Champions League, but it may be a reasonable fee considering he is a striker.
Liverpool, who have been named as a club interested, are in pursuit of higher-level players, and depending on the success of Italian international Federico Chiesa and whether Mohamed Salah’s contract is renewed, they may not move to secure the attacker.
So will the 25-year-old forward, who wants to play in England, step up to a new challenge with a new club in the second half of the season or next season…?
