Slot aims for reinforcements from old clubs...Liverpool interested in Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber Transfers

Arne Slott, who led Feyenoord until last season, scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 44 games as a regular under his manager, 23-year-old midfielder Quinten Timber, who also made his debut for the Dutch national team in March 2024.

The Dutch manager, who is pursuing a new challenge at Liverpool, is looking to secure a defensive midfielder and was close to signing Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi this summer. Negotiations for the midfielder were unsuccessful, but he is still keen to add depth to his squad at the bottom of midfield.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are targeting a defensive midfielder to replace the Real Sociedad midfielder, with the Dutch midfielder emerging as a target. For Slot, he would be a player he knows well and is familiar with his style of play and personality.

He has been the mainstay of the midfield this season and took the captain’s mark in the first Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen. Although the bottom of midfield is not his position, he has the ability to adapt to the ‘No.6’ position.

After a spell with Ajax, he moved to Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 via Utrecht. His current contract runs until June 2026, with one year remaining next summer. If he does not renew his contract this season, it will be the perfect time for him to step up.

Twin brother Julien Timber moved to Arsenal earlier in the season and has been successful in the Premier League, and the possibility of following him cannot be ruled out.

So will Liverpool extend their tentacles to the 23-year-old midfielder…?
