22-year-old midfielder Georgiy Sudakov has risen through the Shakhtar Donetsk academy and is now firmly established as a mainstay in the first team. He has already made over 100 appearances for the club and has also played in the Champions League and Europa League.
The young talent’s future is hectic, as he has become a regular in the Ukrainian national team, scoring three goals in 24 games since his debut in May 2021. He has been linked with a move to a strong European club since last year, but it may be time for him to step up.
According to CaughtOffside, top Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have shown strong interest in the player and are continuing scouting.
The report also states that a minimum transfer fee of €65 million would be required to acquire the 22-year-old Ukrainian, who plays as an attacking midfielder. It is questionable whether Liverpool, whose priority reinforcement position is defensive midfielder, has the budget left to pay that sum of money.
With Dominik Szoboszlai and Harvey Elliott in attacking midfield positions, and the likes of Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota available to play if push comes to shove, they are unlikely to be as hot favourites as the bottom of midfield or centre-backs.
It is unlikely that Liverpool will make a move for the Ukrainian midfielder in the near future, but there are many rich clubs in the Premier League and it is possible that one of them will start negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsik.
So, will the 22-year-old player have a future landing in England this winter or next summer in the transfer market…?
