At 32, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah continues to lead the team in both goals and assists for Liverpool. He is also in the top ten of all-time Premier League goalscorers and has made his mark on club and league history.

However, he is approaching an age where it will be difficult for him to continue to make a long-term impact, and Liverpool have turned their attention to the young winger.

Scouting continues, although the priority will depend on whether the player’s contract is renewed and the performance of Italian international Federico Chiesa, who joined the club this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool have listed 23-year-old winger Dan Ndoye, who plays for Bologna, for the future and could be available in next summer’s transfer window.

The Swiss winger, who is under contract with the Italian club until June 2027, joined from Basel in the summer of 2023. Last season he played in various positions up front, including left and right wing, centre forward and second striker, scoring three goals and assisting five in 38 games.

The young attacker made his full national team debut in September 2022, but it is still too early to move to Anfield. His figures in both goals and assists are lacking and it is clear that he is not good enough to take over from Egyptian King.

He made 21 appearances in the European Conference League during his time in Basel, but also lacks experience at the top level, such as in the Champions League. Inter Milan and Manchester United are also said to be interested, but the chances of Liverpool making a serious move are almost zero.

So will Liverpool defy expectations and step up their pursuit of the 23-year-old Swiss winger…?
