‘It means everything’ To Trent Alexander-Arnold, what it means to play for Liverpool Career

England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has become a world-class player at right-back for Liverpool under the spell of manager Jurgen Klopp. He is a genuine scouser, born locally and brought up in the academy.

The 26-year-old defender, whose contract with Liverpool runs until June 2025, is currently in talks with the club. Meanwhile, his departure is attracting a lot of attention, with Real Madrid looking to land him without a transfer fee if negotiations fall through.

Will he continue playing at Anfield or move on to a new challenge? Amid speculation about his club next season, the 26-year-old right-back says playing for Liverpool means everything to him, just as it did when he first wore the uniform during his academy days.

“It’s the same as what I’ve felt when I was six, when I first pulled the shirt on. It means everything,”

“It’s a privilege, it’s an honour. I know how many people wish they were in my position and I don’t take that for granted.”

“It’s something that I worked really, really hard for, so it’s something that I embrace and I love it.”

“It’s something that I enjoy doing, every single time.”

“It’s been over 300 times now that I’ve done it, first-team football, most of those times have ended in good results, some haven’t, but through the good and the bad I’ve loved putting the shirt on.”
