Arne Slot took charge of Feyenoord until last season and is now in charge of the prestigious Liverpool team. He has made a good start to the Premier League season and his reputation is ebbing and flowing, but there is still a long way to go in the season and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
Meanwhile, Turkish midfielder Orkun Kökçü, who left Holland a year earlier than Slot to join Portuguese side Benfica, has been a key player in his new club and is enjoying a successful career with four goals and three assists in 15 games this season.
The 23-year-old midfielder revealed that it was the Dutch coach who laid the foundations for him, revealing that he is like a father figure and one of the best coaches in the world.
“Arne Slot is like my father, he made me who I am,”
“I think he is the best coach in the world. Tactically, in terms of communication…he is the best.”
“When he took charge of Feyenoord, I saw a big boost in my performance in the first season. That year, we reached the Conference League final, but unfortunately we lost. So I think the performance was very good.”
“I wanted to be transferred in the summer [of 2022] and some of the big clubs in the top six in England were interested in me. We had serious talks about the transfer, but at the last minute it didn’t happen. The following season, Arne Slot made me team captain and the responsibility increased my performance even more.”

The player has been continuously linked with interest from Liverpool since the summer transfer window. He could be the ideal man for the manager, as he understands Slot’s tastes and can act as a defensive midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder.
Those who know each other well don’t necessarily have to be in the same team. And it is also shallow to tie this statement to a desire to move to Liverpool by no means.
Nevertheless, the Turkish midfielder’s trust in the Dutch conductor was revealed to be considerable.
