Liverpool are looking for a defender to replace Andy Robertson, who is also captain of the Scotland national team, at left-back on a long-term basis. There are constant reports hinting at interest from Merseyside, with Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez at the top of the list.
According to TBR, Liverpool could join the battle for Canadian defender Alphonso Davies, who is entering the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich. In addition to Real Madrid, who have long been rumoured to be interested, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be interested.
The 24-year-old left-back uses his speed to his advantage and runs rampant down the left flank. He can play not only as a defender but also in more forward positions and is often used in the front line, such as left winger for the Canadian national team.
He has played more than 200 games for strong German clubs and has played more than 40 games in the Champions League. He has plenty of experience on the big stage and is certainly a player mega clubs will want to keep an eye on.
However, whether Liverpool will make a move for him is another story. They are not the kind of club that will inject all their energy into a battle with a club with superior financial resources, and even without a transfer fee, it is inevitable that a large budget will be required, including salaries and payments to agents.
The odds of the Canadian international side-back landing at Anfield are very low, but at the moment it is unlikely that he will remain in Germany and all eyes will be on where his new home will be.
