‘Should be on Liverpool’s radar’ Club alumnus heavily recommends Milos Kerkez to replace Andy Robertson Transfers

Scotland defender Andy Robertson has developed into a world-class player as Liverpool’s left-back during Jurgen Klopp’s reign. He not only defends, but also creates chances from the left flank in attack, and sometimes gets involved in the goal himself in the penalty area.

The 30-year-old defender, who now shows leadership in the national team, including wearing the captain’s mark, has been inconsistent in his performances this season.

Perhaps it is the decline of age for the athletic side-back, but there is a strong impression that his concentration and playing style deteriorate after consecutive games.

With daily reports of potential new left-backs, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has revealed his belief that a generational change is inevitable and said that Bournemouth’s Hungarian defender Milos Kerkez is one to watch.

“I think Liverpool will be looking at a new left-back regardless because of Andy Robertson’s age,”

“I thought he was superb against Girona and will no doubt want to fight for his place, but I still believe the club will try and add another player in that position.”

“Konstantinos Tsimikas has been a good backup, but if you want to look long term then they should bring someone else in with more quality.”

“I know Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth is someone that’s been looked at and I really like him. He’s an exciting player who’s performed well in this high-flying Bournemouth team.”

“It depends what Arne Slot is looking for in his left-back and whether he wants someone more defensive-minded for that balance, but Kerkez is someone that knows the Premier League and has already performed at a decent level. He’s someone who should be on Liverpool’s radar.”

The 21-year-old young defender moved to Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023 and has been a regular starter this season.

He has continued to play from the start of games since the start of the Premier League season and has developed into a vital defender in the team’s final line.

He has also gained experience on the international stage, having started 21 games on the pitch for Hungary despite being 21 years old.

The left-back is steadily gaining strength, but will he be looking for a new home at Anfield in the transfer market this winter or next summer…?
