In the summer of 2022, 24-year-old forward Igor Paixão came to Feyenoord in the Netherlands from Coritiba in Brazil, and has made great progress in the Eredivisie.
As well as Premier League sides such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and West Ham United, the former Brazilian U-23 attacker, who has continued to start in the domestic league and Champions League this season, has been the subject of interest from AS Roma from Italy, CaughtOffside reported.
The player has just signed a long-term contract until 2029 in November 2024, but it appears that he could be available for between €30 million and €35 million.
The diminutive forward, who can play in various positions up front, including right winger and second striker as well as left winger, can run wildly at opponents with his small dribbles and finely re-move to get off their mark and score goals.
With Mohamed Salah’s age, plus the uncertain departure of Darwin Nunez, Liverpool are said to be starting to shortlist new attackers. Luis Diaz has recently put in certain performances as a centre-forward, and the winger could be a candidate to compete with Cody Gakpo.
Feyenoord were managed by Arne Slot until last season, and he should be familiar with the Brazilian attacker, not only his style of play, but also his character.
Will the 24-year-old forward make the step up to the Premier League this winter or in the summer transfer window?
