Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez has been the subject of rumours of an exit from Liverpool after question marks were cast over his performances in front of goal.

He outranks Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in the pecking order as a centre-forward in the team and spends a lot of time on the bench.

Despite recent interest from Saudi Arabia, coach Arne Slott has no ideas about releasing him.

According to German Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Middle Eastern clubs are likely to look to Bayer Leverkusen if they miss out on the Uruguayan striker.

“Various clubs from Saudi Arabia are monitoring Victor Boniface’s situation and are considering making an offer before Deadline Day if a move for Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez does not materialise.”

“Leverkusen are aware of the interest from Saudi Arabia and England. While Boniface is not considered unsellable, Bayer 04 are demanding a transfer fee of at least €50m.”

There is no way they would sell one of their members without getting a replacement during the season, and Darwin Nunez is not available for sale.

There is a high awareness of keeping at least six forwards in the squad, with cover in each position.

It is also difficult to acquire the ideal player in the winter transfer market and nothing should happen over the player.
