Last summer, Spanish international Nico Williams was almost certain to go to Barcelona, but he eventually stayed at Athletic Bilbao. He has already made 30 appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
The 22-year-old winger, who is under contract until 2027, was the focus of the international media outlet The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who commented that the Spanish attacker is positive about landing in the Premier League, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurand other English sides are following the trend, he wrote.
“Nico Williams wanted to join Barcelona last summer, waiting for them despite interest from the Premier League,”
“Barcelona are unlikely to be there for him in the summer window, given Raphinha and Lamine Yamal’s form.”
“He is now more open to a move to the Premier League, as reported in the Transfer Radar.”
“Williams has a release clause of around €60million. The likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham hold a long-standing admiration.”

On the left wing, the team has Colombian international Luis Diaz and Dutch international Cody Gakpo, as well as Italian international Federico Chiesa.
The squad is well-stocked, but with Diaz having recently been used as a centre-forward and Chiesa’s role as a reserve for Mohamed Salah, there is no possibility in terms of adding depth.
However, the preferred position up front must be the right winger. There are also many other areas to reinforce, such as centre-back, left-back and defensive midfielder, and it is hard to imagine the Reds spending more than €60 million on a left winger.
Will the Reds really be able to whitewash a Spanish national team attacker…?
