After their win against Manchester City, Liverpool welcomed Newcastle United to Anfield in two days’ time. The home crowd cheered the team and Dominik Szoboszlai took an early lead with his second straight goal in the 11th minute.
Liverpool then pinned the visitors back a little, but they dominated possession and Alexis Mac Allister scored his second in the 63rd minute to cement the whitewash. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s draw with Nottingham Forest widened the gap to ‘13’ points.
And again, Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo was introduced in the 77th minute to continue to nip the away team’s attack in the bud.
Arne Slot seems to be a fan of the veteran midfielder, who has been a consistent performer on every occasion, not only for his play, but also for his humanity.
