Liverpool, looking to strengthen their midfielders, succeeded in adding Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch to their squad. The average age of the midfielders has also dropped dramatically, a smart reinforcement in terms of transfer fees.

After the departure of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, Fluminense midfielder Andre has been rumored as one of the candidates, along with Gravenberch. Liverpool is said to have made an offer, but the club, which is aiming to win the Copa Libertadores, was adamant about not releasing him this summer.

While the club is reportedly open to selling in the transfer market next January when the tournament ends, Liverpool is continuing negotiations with the Brazilian club and is working to acquire the 22-year-old Brazilian midfielder this winter, according to Danny Gallagher, a sports journalist.

“Talks remain ongoing between Liverpool and Fluminense regarding Andre and a deal for January, though zero chance of a deadlineday summer move.”

Four newcomers have joined the team this summer, including Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Stefan Bajcetic. James McConnell has also responded to his appointment with an impressive pre-season performance, and Tyler Morton and other loanees could be first-team fixtures depending on their development.

Thiago Alcantara is expected to leave on a free transfer next summer, but the squad is well rounded. The top priorities are to find a successor for Virgil van Dijk and a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

It is hard to believe that they will be looking at a midfielder again, but are the reports true?
