Liverpool acquired three midfielders, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo. Still, that didn’t stop them from looking for a new midfielder, and they acquired Dutch U-21 midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who had been smoldering at Bayern Munich, close to the transfer market deadline.
Last season, he made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga, but most of them were midway through the season. However, he has a total of 12 goals and 13 assists in 103 games for Ajax, and has experience in many games in the Champions League and Europa League.
During his active career, he also played for Liverpool, scoring 71 goals in 285 games for Anfield. Former Dutch international Dirk Kuyt, who helped the team with a higher level of dedication than numbers, praised the experience and ability of the 21-year-old midfielder, who is the newest addition to his old club. He expressed his feelings that he could not hide his excitement about the transfer.
“First of all, he’s a very intelligent player. He was unbelievable at Ajax. He always managed to play at a very high level at a very young age. He then took the next step at Bayern Munich — which got me very excited as it proves he could play with the best in Europe.
“Unfortunately, he didn’t get the game time he expected there. When I heard the rumors about him going to Liverpool I was very excited. I think he’ll definitely fit into Jürgen’s team and I expect a lot from him.”
“Hopefully he can get back to the level we saw at Ajax.”
“He was unable to do that at Bayern as he didn’t have many games, but I think he’s a player who can run forever and has great quality with his feet.”
“Not only can he run forever, but his quality on the ball is amazing. He can pick the ball up from his defenders, but also feed the ball into the strikers.”
“The quality of his runs are amazing, and so is his passing. He’s also very young and he’ll bring a lot of things to the team.”BettingSites
