After beating a strong West Ham team over the weekend, Liverpool faced Leicester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The matchup at Anfield, which welcomed the team relegated from the Premier League last season, started off with a fast counter-attack that led to the first goal of the game.
However, the visitors gradually regrouped and equalized with a goal from Cody Gakpo. Then, Dominik Szoboszlai, who was introduced midway through the game, scored a super goal to turn the game around.
Diogo Jota also scored in the final minutes to give the visitors a two-goal advantage and advance to the next round.
In a game in which young players such as Harvey Elliott, Ben Doak, and Jarell Quansah were active, the most talked about goal was the Hungarian midfielder’s second goal, a powerful mid-range shot.
