Jamal Musiala, a 20-year-old midfielder who used to play for Chelsea, has been a regular at Bayern Munich since he was a teenager and has secured a starting spot in the German national team with his hard-to-timing dribble and chance-making ability.
Now 20 years old, he has scored 38 goals and assisted 26 in 144 games, and has already broken out of his young age bracket to become one of the best midfielders in Europe. His continued quality performances have fostered interest from some of the Premier League’s best clubs.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, and other English sides are all interested in acquiring the German midfielder, and with contract negotiations stalled, they hope to make the move happen within 2024.
A battle for the player, who is under contract until 2026, would be detrimental to Liverpool’s sound management. They would be at a disadvantage against oil money and aggressive investment, and even if Bayern decided to sell, they would be asking for a price that would be difficult to pay.
More to the point, the 20-year-old midfielder, who has mostly played up top, does not have the same position in coach Jurgen Klopp’s preferred formation. This is a problem that Fabio Carvalho, the Portuguese U-21 midfielder who moved from Fulham and struggled at Anfield, had to deal with.
Will the German international, who is no stranger to winning the Ballon d’Or, have the world view to challenge for the Premier League?
