Liverpool will not give up on England defender Levi Colwill...Chelsea firmly refused` Transfers

Liverpool pursued a left-handed center back in the transfer market last summer. As a result, they were unable to acquire anyone center back, but as for 32-year-old defender Joel Matip, he is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, so it is not surprising that they are looking to strengthen their back line.

Although 20-year-old defender Jarrell Quansah has been a steady performer, it would make sense to add a new element to a center back group that is all right-handed, a defender who can pass out from his left foot.

According to Football London, the club remains interested in England defender Levi Colwill, whom they tried to acquire before signing his current contract with Chelsea, and would like to bring him out of London, but his club has no interest in selling him.

The 20-year-old defender, who signed a long-term contract last year until 2029, can play at left back as well as center back. He has made 27 appearances this season and has been entrusted with a central role in the final line.

He was also selected for the long-awaited England national team in October 2023, and is developing under the trust of coach Mauricio Pochettino. He is spending his time at the club where he has spent time since the academy, and there seems to be no room for him to consider leaving at this point.

The only possibility is that Chelsea’s change of focus to young players will not produce results, and that they will be out of the Champions League and Europa League for a long time. If they miss out this season, it is unlikely that they will want to move on, and it will be a game of several years.

Liverpool is in a difficult situation, but can they succeed in acquiring the desired young center back?
