Liverpool pushes hard for Michael Edwards in final round of negotiations...Richard Hughes is the most likely new SD Transfers

With the Jurgen Klopp regime nearing its end, Liverpool is looking to put in place a new structure in preparation for a new era.

While looking for a new sporting director and a new coach, they are also looking for someone who can handle negotiations with them, and are in talks with former sporting director Michael Edwards, who was also instrumental in the acquisition of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah.

Chelsea also approached him, but he rejected their offer. The owners have been shaking their heads at offers from Liverpool as well, but the owners highly value Edwards’ skills and are willing to entrust him with a transition period from the Klopp administration.

Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the negotiations as the Reds is still pushing. Richard Hughes, who will leave Bournemouth at the end of the season if he returns, is also the most likely candidate to be Liverpool’s new sporting director.

“Conversations between Liverpool and Michael Edwards continue, final round of talks revealed 10 days ago as Liverpool are still pushing.”

“Understand Richard Hughes remains strong candidate in club’s list as part of the new structure in case Edwards will accept the job.”
