Transfer market experts admit...Liverpool is also scouting Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners Transfers

The midfielders acquired last summer are playing well, and youngsters such as Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are developing.

Reinforcing the midfield is not a priority for Liverpool at this time, but there are endless media reports of interest in players in the position.

One such player is Atalanta’s Dutch midfielder Toon Koop Miners, who moved to Italy from AZ Alkmaar in 2021 and has scored 26 goals and 12 assists in 112 games.

As he has developed into one of Serie A’s leading midfielders, he has stated that he has offered the club a move this summer.

In addition to Liverpool, Juventus, another Italian club, is also on the offensive, and several clubs from the Premier League are said to be interested, but Fabrizio Romano, who is familiar with the transfer market, acknowledged this fact but said that a move to the Turin team is the most likely scenario.

“Juventus are the favourites to sign Teun Koopmeiners as he has been their top target for a long time, they want him and the relationship with Atalanta is very good,”

“Liverpool have been scouting him but again, a lot will depend on the decision on who will replace Jurgen Klopp as manager – it’s too early to mention Liverpool’s plans without a decision on the manager.”

The 26-year-old midfielder, who has been on the pitch for more than 20 games for the Dutch national team, can play in a wide range of midfield positions, from attacking to defensive.

He would be an interesting option to replace former Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara if he retires at the end of the season.

Realistically, however, Liverpool is unlikely to make a serious move for the player. Liverpool has other priority positions, such as center back and right winger, and it is only natural that they would allocate their limited budget to those positions.

Which club will the former AZ midfielder step up to this summer?
