Jurgen Klopp will soon step down as Liverpool manager, marking the end of an era. The next era will begin with 32-year-old center backs Joel Matip and Filsil Van Dijk, who both continued to lead the final line during the German’s tenure at the helm.

Defenders such as Ibrahima Konate and Jarel Quanser have performed consistently, but there have been reports of interest in new young center backs, including a generational change. While Gonzalo Inacio and Tosin Adarabioyo are among the targets, eyes are also on Italy.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are preparing an offer for 18-year-old defender Dean Huijsen, who is on loan at Roma from Juventus this season. Bundesliga sides such as Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have also shown interest.

The young defender from Amsterdam has been making more appearances since the beginning of the year, making 12 appearances in Serie A so far, three of them as a starter. He has made 12 Serie A appearances, three of them as a starter, and is gaining recognition in Italy.

He has a contract with Juventus starting in 2021, and his current contract expires in June 2028. In the national team, he has played for the youth team of his country of origin, the Netherlands, but has been called up to the Spanish U-21 team since March 2024.

Juventus is expected to ask for 40 million euros for the player, and together with Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer, in whom Manchester United is interested, they hope to earn a total of 100 million euros, which they will spend to reinforce Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori and others. The club is likely to spend the money on reinforcements such as Bologna defender Riccardo Calafioli.
