Transfer fee of €50-60 million...Liverpool interested in Frankfurt defender William Pacho, but no move yet Transfers

With Joel Matip likely to retire at the end of the season and Virgil Van Dijk on the verge of turning 33, Liverpool can hear the footsteps of a generational change.

They are looking to secure a new centre-back in this summer’s transfer window, and a left-footed defender is their top priority for reinforcements.

They made a move for him last summer, and had previously made contact with Chelsea defender Levi Colwill. Throughout the season, there continued to be rumours of interest in players such as Sporting defender Goncalo Inácio and other fast-growing European players.

And while various defenders’ names have been mentioned recently, Ecuadorian defender William Pacho has also been mentioned as a leading candidate.

German Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg revealed that the player’s transfer fee could be up to €60 million, but also said that there has been no contact between the clubs yet.

“Eintracht Frankfurt, still keen about the interest from Liverpool in Willian Pacho.”

“But been told there’s no contact between the clubs at this stage.”

“Price tag for the 22 y/o center-back has been set: €50-60m in transfer fees for a transfer in summer. Contract valid until 2028.”
